Klassiekers

Hoera, weer een opsomming van mijn “tweets” met een kort verhaaltje erbij. Met dit keer klassiekers van Grease tot Pulp Fiction en van 27b/6 tot Google.

Grease Update: Internet Loving. Wat als John Travolta en Olivia Newton John vandaag zouden ontmoeten. Hoe? Via Facebook uiteraard. De maker, Martin “lo-ego” Collins heeft meer hilarische dingen die je allemaal op zijn blog kunt checken. Om te beginnen vind ik de titel van zijn website al prachtig: Dinner’s in the blog. (Deze creatie, met allerlei zelfmoordvarianten op kantoor is bijvoorbeeld ook mooi.)

Meer klassiekers worden vernieuwd. Wat als Pulp Fiction in Frankrijk af zou spelen? Blijkens de beschrijving heeft het MTV’s Basterdize Tarantino contest gewonnen.

Op het Internet is de gast die met een tekening van een spin wilde betalen inmiddels ook al een klassieker. Hij blijft doorschrijven en er is weer een hilarische uit komen rollen. Strata rules exist for the benefit and wellbeing of all residents.

Three Frames dacht ik al eens gelinkt te hebben, maar blijkbaar was dat toch niet het geval. De site post dagelijks animted GIFs van elk drie frames uit een jaren 80-film. Hier zijn twee plaatjes om bij te tongen: 1, 2.

The Room is niet uit de jaren 80 (2003!) maar is wel intens slecht. Check dit voorproefje maar. “Hi doggie!” De film is inmiddels een cultklassieker.

Tot slot heb ik nog een handige voor jullie: Google. Dan kun je zoeken enzo. Mocht je die al kennen dan moet je eens zoeken op the answer to life the universe and everything of ascii art voor een aangename Überraschung.

Jesus Is My Friend

Some songs are so catchy, you don’t even listen to the lyrics. Sonseed’s Jesus Is My Friend on the other hand, is incredibly catchy and the lyrics are stuck inside my head as well, now. “Once I tried to run, I tried to run and hide. But Jesus came and found me, and he touched me down inside. He is like a Mountie, he always gets his man…”
Update: At least one of the band members is still alive. He comments on Youtube saying:

“If someone told me that some dumb little TV show we did 25 years ago would wind up on the ‘net I would have crapped my pants! We were actually pretty popular in the with the “born again crowd in the early 80’s. Yes, that is a Steinberger knock-off (a Kramer, actually). Who could afford a Steinberger? No, I’ve never been to Akron but man, that sounded like some kind of party!”
